Provincial Government Announces New Paving on Route 361 in Milltown-Head of Bay d’Espoir and St. Albans

A contract valued at close to $950,000 has been awarded to J-1 Contracting Limited for roadwork on Route 361 in the District of Fortune Bay-Cape La Hune. The contract, which was awarded last month, is made possible through funding under the 2015-16 Provincial Roads Program and work will begin immediately. Work will be completed this year.
$20 Million Contract Awarded for New Conception Bay South K-7 School

A contract has been awarded to construct a new school in Conception Bay South. The school will accommodate 600 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 upon opening and is designed for possible future expansion. Valued at $20 million, the contract will see completion of the entire building including a soccer field and playground.

Provincial Government Announces Capital Works Projects in Labrador

Three Labrador communities, Hopedale, L'Anse au Loup and West St. Modeste, will receive funding from the Provincial Government to assist with municipal infrastructure upgrades. The $1.1 million cost-shared investment is in addition to over $11.5 million provided to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador City and Wabush through the 2014-17 multi-year capital works program.

Provincial Government Announces Over $1.9 Million in Roadwork for the District of Trinity North

The Provincial Government has awarded a tender to J-1 Contracting Limited of Clarenville for road upgrades and paving on Route 204 near Long Beach and Route 231 on Random Island. The contract was awarded in late July and is valued at over $1.9 million. The work will be completed by the end of the current construction season.
Increased Number of Visitors Enjoying Salmonier Nature Park’s Recreational and Educational Activities

The Salmonier Nature Park provides exemplary learning opportunities and visitor experiences that connect people with the natural environment of Newfoundland and Labrador. Despite the unseasonal weather in June and July, visitation at Salmonier Nature Park has seen a noticeable increase this summer. Road Work Gets Underway in the Baie Verte-Springdale Area

Road upgrades, paving and asphalt leveling will be carried out in the Baie Verte-Springdale area through two contracts awarded to J-1 Contracting Limited and Mike Kelly & Sons Ltd. at a total value of just over $700,000. The contracts were awarded last month and work will be completed by the end of the current construction season.
