Provincial Government Awards Addictions Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Grants

The Provincial Government has awarded $140,000 to support successful applicants under this year’s Community Addictions Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Grants Program. A total of 31 recipients across the province – including individuals, community groups and non-profit organizations – will benefit from funding to support their own initiatives for the prevention of addictions and promotion of mental health.

The Forestry and Agrifoods Agency advises that it plans to conduct a 290-hectare prescribed burn starting Sunday, September 13, weather permitting, at Denny's Pond. The site is located approximately 28 kilometres south of the community of Millertown and 15 kilometres inside the Denny's Pond South Resource Road in Forest Management District 12.

Big Game Hunting Season Starts Saturday in Newfoundland and Labrador

General seasons for the eastern region big game zones will open on October 3.
