The public is reminded that the Main Gut Trestle, located in Stephenville Crossing in the T’Railway Provincial Park, remains closed to all pedestrian and motorized use due to serious structural issues. The bridge was originally closed in November 2006 and has been barricaded since that time with signage in place.

Economic development on the Irish Loop has received a boost with funding from the Provincial Government. During a visit to the area today, the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, announced a combined investment of almost $300,000 for the Edge of the Avalon Inn and the Southern Shore Folk Arts Council to further develop tourism initiatives, visitor experiences and support business growth in the area.

Provincial Government Provides Update on Disaster Assistance Funding Program for Mud Lake Residents

The Provincial Government is now ready to disperse funds under the Newfoundland and Labrador Disaster Financial Assistance Program (NL-DFAP). Through the program, up to $2.96 million in provincial funds are available to assist residents with damages caused by the flooding event at Mud Lake.
