Provincial Government Announces Funding to Support Innovation, Transition to Groundfish in Seafood Industry

The Provincial Government is continuing to support the diversification and growth of Newfoundland and Labrador’s seafood industry with investments of approximately $1.8 million to date in 2017-18 as part of the $2 million Seafood Innovation and Transition Program.
Provincial Government Awards Contract for Environmental Assessment of Former Mid-Canada Line Military Radar Sites

The Provincial Government has awarded Stanissu-Stantec Limited Partnership a contract for $247,000 to conduct Phase II Environmental Site Assessments at the former Mid-Canada Line military radar sites in Cartwright and Border Beacon in Labrador. Assessment work is expected to be completed by December 2017.

Federal and Provincial Governments Invest in Marina Development Studies in Springdale

Investments from the Governments of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada are enabling the Town of Springdale to carry out further studies for its proposed marina development. The studies will provide additional data to support the marina feasibility study and engineering plan completed in 2015 and strengthen the town’s decision-making process to ensure a successful marina development.
