Investments Support Humber Valley Tourism Industry

Investments from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Government of Canada will help tourism growth and development in the province’s Humber Valley region. Marble Resort Development Limited will renovate its Marble Inn Resort to offer larger conference facilities and the Town of Steady Brook will continue developing its community trail system to benefit both residents and visitors.

The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources and MHA for St. John’s West; Seamus O’Regan, MP for St John’s South - Mount Pearl; and Dennis O’Keefe, Mayor of the City of St. John’s, attended the event along with members of the Bowring Park Foundation.

New Director of Public Prosecutions Appointed

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, welcomed today the appointment of Jennifer Mercer, QC, as acting Director of Public Prosecutions, effective immediately. Ms. Mercer replaces Justice Francis Knickle, who was appointed to the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in May.
