House of Assembly

The Public Accounts Committee will conduct a public hearing on December 18, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. The hearing will take place in the House of Assembly Chamber.

Children, Seniors and Social Development

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, today announced an investment of $200,000 to support a new Aging Research Centre with Memorial University contributing approximately $300,000.

Transportation and Works

Motorists on the northeast Avalon are advised that the Team Gushue Highway extension between Kenmount Road and Topsail Road is now open.

Fisheries and Land Resources

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources, Fish and Wildlife Enforcement, is seeking the public’s assistance related to incidents involving the alleged killing of a moose in the Town of Stephenville and a caribou near the community of St. Shott’s.

Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, today announced the Provincial Government’s latest project to expand wireless coverage in unserved and underserved communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Motorists are advised that the Department of Transportation and Works is monitoring forecasts calling for 15 to 20 cm of snow in eastern Newfoundland starting this evening and exceeding 20 cm on the Avalon Peninsula before tomorrow morning.
