Mr. Speaker, last week I had the privilege of attending the 63rd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, as part of the Canadian delegation. I had the opportunity to meet with government officials, community groups, and those with lived-experiences from all over the world and to discuss key issues affecting women and girls.

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Sunday, March 17, to officially open the 2019 Labrador Winter Games. The opening ceremonies will be held at the E.J. Broomfield Memorial Arena beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will include the lighting of the games torch.

A number of localized outbreaks of measles in Canada and the United States have brought increased attention to this disease. At this time, there are no confirmed cases of measles in Newfoundland and Labrador.
