Today, the Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Government of Canada celebrated the opening of the new Shushepeshipan Group Home. This Innu-led, operated and staffed group home is part of the Innu’s larger vision to have placement resources available in the communities of Sheshatshiu and Natuashish when Innu children and youth require a period of out of home care.
