Applications Open for Age-Friendly Newfoundland and Labrador Community Grant Program

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, announced today that applications are now being accepted for the Age-Friendly Newfoundland and Labrador Community Grant Program. An age-friendly community is one where the physical and social environments enable individuals to live in a secure setting, enjoy health and continue to participate fully in society, regardless of age.

Fisheries and Land Resources
Residents are cautioned about two polar bears reported in Makkovik in the vicinity of the town dump. Conservation officers have captured and relocated one bear, and continue to monitor a second bear in the area.
