Today, the provincial and federal governments announced $89.4 million in joint funding for the Low Carbon Economy Leadership Fund to support Newfoundland and Labrador’s climate action programs. Over $44 million is being provided over the next four years by each level of government to support programs and projects that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in this province.

Michael Drover Named 2019 Canada Winter Games Flag Bearer

Gymnast Michael Drover has been named Team Newfoundland and Labrador’s flag bearer for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2019 Canada Winter Games, taking place February 15 to March 3 in Red Deer, Alberta. Mr. Drover will be competing at the Canada Games for the second time, having been a member of the 2015 Canada Games team. His biography is included in the backgrounder below.
