Provincial Drama Festival Celebrates 65 Years of Theatre Arts

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Drama Festival kicked off its 65th season last night at the Arts and Culture Centre in Gander. With seven community theatre groups from around the province gathering to perform a variety of plays, the festival is the longest running full-length drama festival in the country. The Provincial Government continues to support the arts through a number of annual grant programs.

The Forestry and Agrifoods Agency advises that Forest Access Roads in the Gambo, Glovertown, and Gander Bay areas will be closed to vehicle traffic effective Wednesday, April 8, 2015 until further notice. The roads will remain open to snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.
Government Invests to Support Port Expansion in Placentia Bay

Department of Finance Advises of Pension Overpayments and Actions Being Taken to Minimize Impacts

An internal audit of Government of Newfoundland and Labrador public pension payments identified errors and resulting overpayments to 427 individuals. The Human Resource Secretariat is now contacting the impacted individuals and efforts will be made to recover the $934,979 paid out in error.
