Integrated Approach Moves Moose Management Planning Forward

The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Environment and Conservation, and the Honourable David Brazil, Minister of Transportation and Works, today announced a new five-year moose management plan. The plan will see greater collaboration between government departments and will draw upon scientific research and moose-vehicle collision statistics to create a long-term, coordinated approach to moose management in the province.

Provincial Drama Festival Celebrates 65 Years of Theatre Arts

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Drama Festival kicked off its 65th season last night at the Arts and Culture Centre in Gander. With seven community theatre groups from around the province gathering to perform a variety of plays, the festival is the longest running full-length drama festival in the country. The Provincial Government continues to support the arts through a number of annual grant programs.

Premier Meets with Denominational Leaders

The purpose of the discussion was to seek guidance on the matter of flying a religious flag during Holy Week on the courtesy flagpole on Confederation Complex Grounds.
Provincial Government Offers $100,000 to Support Adult Literacy Project

The Provincial Government has offered $100,000 in project-based funding to Literacy NL which will help enable the organization to move forward with its Digital Skills for the Older Workers and Potential Older Workers project.
Public Advisory: Forest Access Roads to Close in Gambo, Glovertown and Gander Bay Areas

The Forestry and Agrifoods Agency advises that Forest Access Roads in the Gambo, Glovertown, and Gander Bay areas will be closed to vehicle traffic effective Wednesday, April 8, 2015 until further notice. The roads will remain open to snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.
Government Invests to Support Port Expansion in Placentia Bay

The Harbour Authority of Arnold’s Cove will expand its docking facilities as the busy port looks ahead to meeting increased commercial, industrial, and recreational demand. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is supporting the authority with $66,000 for the project.
New Online Autism Training Will Enhance Supports for Students

Department of Finance Advises of Pension Overpayments and Actions Being Taken to Minimize Impacts

An internal audit of Government of Newfoundland and Labrador public pension payments identified errors and resulting overpayments to 427 individuals. The Human Resource Secretariat is now contacting the impacted individuals and efforts will be made to recover the $934,979 paid out in error.
Marystown Hotel and Convention Rolls Out New Marketing Plan with the Help of Provincial Government Funding
