Through Budget 2016, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will assist over 90 organizations, associations, museums, achieves and historical societies preserve the province's heritage with an investment of over $830,000 through the Provincial Government's Cultural Economic Development Program (CEDP).

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minster of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, will attend the annual general meeting of the Council of Judges of the Supreme Court today (Wednesday, June 1). The meeting is being held at the Town Hall in Norris Point with Minister Parsons expected to address the council at 1:30 p.m.

The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will bring greetings at the Turning Points Award Ceremony tomorrow (Wednesday, June 1). The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre, 7 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South.

Today, the Newfoundland and Labrador Hydraulic Fracturing Review Panel released its final report. The Provincial Government has received the report and is beginning the process of reviewing the contents.

Environment and Conservation

The public is advised that the Dr. Leslie Tuck Interpretation Centre at Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, May 31) for staff training. The reserve will remain open to the public; however, washroom facilities will not be available while the building is closed.
