2016-17 Road Construction Season Well Underway
Transportation and Works
The Department of Transportation and Works has issued 25 tenders since launching the 2016-17 road construction season in March, with a further 10 tenders to be issued for roadwork across Newfoundland and Labrador. The projects are funded under the $62 million Provincial Roads Program. In addition, numerous projects valued at $55 million in provincial and cost-shared funding are continuing from previous years.

Public Advisory: Hours of Operation Change for Service NL Grand Falls-Windsor Office on June 13

Service NL advises that on Monday, June 13, the opening of Government Service Centre / Motor Registration offices in Grand Falls-Windsor will be delayed as a result of a scheduled power outage. Service is expected to begin at approximately 10:30 a.m. In the event of an urgent need for service while the office is closed that morning, members of the public can call 709-256-1420. Regular hours of operation will resume after June 13.

Province Invests in Business Development Mission for Local Filmmakers

Provincial Government Announces Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reductions
Executive Council
Greenhouse gas emissions from industrial emitters will be reduced and a new fund for clean technology will be established through the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Management of Greenhouse Gas Act . The act will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the province through a form of carbon pricing and comes after significant consultation with local large industry.
