The forum, entitled Drivers of Growth – Unleashing the Economic Power of Women, which includes a number of sessions being held across the province, provides an opportunity for women in business to explore the challenges and successes of advancing in business.

DBRS Confirms Province’s Credit Rating

The rating confirmation is based upon DBRS’s view that credible action is being taken by government to address the province’s fiscal situation.

Premier Ball to Lay Wreath at National Remembrance Day Ceremony

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will represent the people of the province and lay a wreath at the National War Memorial in Ottawa tomorrow (Friday, November 11). Premier Ball will attend the Remembrance Day ceremony to commemorate the centennial of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel and the historic sacrifices of Newfoundland and Labrador’s men and women in uniform. He will be joined by Governor General David Johnston, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of Defence Kent Hehr and other dignitaries in laying wreaths and in viewing the march past of veterans.

Auditor General Tables Report on Performance Audits of Departments and Crown Agencies

In his report to the House of Assembly on Performance Audits of Departments and Crown Agencies tabled in the House of Assembly today in St. John’s, Auditor General, Terry Paddon, reports on 7 reviews completed on Government departments and Crown agencies. The report contains 65 recommendations, directed to Government and the Crown agencies, aimed at strengthening financial and operational processes and controls. In addition, the report contains 186 findings which arose during the reviews.
Results of Calls for Bids Shows Optimism for the Province's Offshore

Today, the Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, announced that significant exploration opportunity exists in the province's offshore as evidenced by the results of Call for Bids in the Eastern Newfoundland Region and in the Jeanne d'Arc Region, both located in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area.
