The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister of Service NL, will attend the 2018 College of the North Atlantic Graduation Ceremony in Placentia tomorrow (Wednesday, June 6). The ceremony will take place at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre, 17 Patterson Drive, Town Square, beginning 10:45 a.m.

Led by the United Nations, June 5, is annually designated to encourage awareness of environmental issues and promote action for the protection of the environment.

Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation

The Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation today announced recipients of the Research Inspired Student Enrichment (RISE) Awards. Thirteen high school students from across the province received the prestigious awards to attend summer research-related enrichment programs throughout North America.

The Provincial Government announced today that sites in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor have been selected as the future homes of two long-term care facilities in central Newfoundland.

Fisheries and Land Resources

The Provincial Government has amended regulations under the Wild Life Act to cap catch-and-release salmon angling activity to a maximum of 10 salmon per licence until July 20. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has set a catch-and-release limit of three salmon per day.
