Tourism, Culture, Industry, Innovation

At a ceremony last night in Halifax, Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism won 19 awards at the 2018 Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise (ICE) Advertising Awards, including the prestigious Best of Show award for the ‘Sound’ Integrated Campaign.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Honourable Perry Trimper, advises that a Harassment-Free Workplace Policy is in effect that applies to complaints against Members of the House of Assembly (MHAs) in accordance with House of Assembly Management Commission Directive 2018-001.

Justice and Public Safety

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General, announced today that the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will partner with Indigenous governments and organizations and the University of Saskatchewan to help send Indigenous students from this province to law school. The trilateral partnership will improve access to legal education and create new employment opportunities for members of Indigenous governments and organizations.

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, will bring greetings at the School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador AGM tomorrow (Friday, June 8). The event will take place at the Holiday Inn, Portugal Cove Road, St. John’s, at 6:30 p.m.

Recreational salmon licences for the east coast and Avalon Peninsula are currently being processed and picked up by vendors, and are available for purchase at some locations today.
