The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will celebrate World Oceans Day with students at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Corner Brook on Friday, June 7, at 9:30 a.m. World Oceans Day, observed annually on June 8, encourages families and residents to celebrate and learn about the importance of the world’s oceans.

The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, today announced that public consultations on the provincial environmental assessment process and regulations have resumed and will be open for feedback until Wednesday, July 3. Data gathered will be used to modernize the process and regulations and enhance environmental protection and industry regulation.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Chief Electoral Officer, Bruce Chaulk, confirmed today that the date has been set for the judicial recount in the electoral district of Labrador West.

The Provincial Government today announced it has reached a collective agreement with the Registered Nurses Union of Newfoundland and Labrador (RNUNL). Ratification of this agreement concluded on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

House of Assembly

Members of the House of Assembly elected in the provincial general election on May 16, 2019, who are eligible to swear their oaths will be sworn-in at a ceremony on Monday, June 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the House of Assembly Chamber. The Member-elect for Labrador West will be sworn-in at a later date. Seating in the Pubic Galleries for the ceremony will be by invitation only.
