The Seal Bay forest access road near Robert’s Arm will reopen to vehicle traffic on Friday, May 17. The road has been closed since April to protect it from damage during the spring thaw.

Motorists in Labrador are advised that officials from the Department of Transportation and Works and the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment are monitoring water levels on Route 520 between Happy Valley-Goose Bay and North West River and Sheshatshiu, including water levels and ice conditions at the Goose River Bridge. In our most recent reporting period (January 1 - March 31, 2019), the OIPC received 75 privacy breach reports from 21 public bodies under the ATIPPA, 2015. This is a 56% increase in the number of breaches from the previous reporting period and is higher than the number of breaches reported quarterly in 2018, which fluctuated between 58 and 59 breaches per quarter.

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources has completed the Big Game Licence Draw for the 2019-20 hunting season. Applicants can view the results online by logging into the Wildlife Information Management System at www.wildlife.gov.nl.ca/ Applicants will also be notified by mail in the coming days.
