Provincial Government Supporting Development of Marystown’s Marine Industrial Park to Boost Economic Growth

The Town of Marystown is further developing its marine industrial park to support the region’s aquaculture industry and create new economic opportunities. The project involves the development of seven existing industrial lots. Activities include blasting, grading, landscaping, excavating, backfilling, site engineering and project management. The initiative will enable the town to further grow its aquaculture and industrial sectors, build community capacity and generate economic benefits for the area.

Income Threshold for Child Care Subsidy Increased, Effective July 1
Education and Early Childhood Development
To help reduce the costs of child care for parents, the threshold for a full subsidy has been adjusted to $35,000 net family income. This is the second adjustment to the threshold in just two years which was most recently raised to $32,000 in June 2017. A partial subsidy is also available to many families with higher than the $35,000 net family income.

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, announced today that the Corner Brook Health Partnership has been selected to design, build, finance and maintain a new acute care hospital in Corner Brook with an estimated contract value of $750 million. Corner Brook Health Partnership consists of Plenary Group Ltd., PCL Constructors Canada Inc., Marco Services Ltd and Johnson Controls Canada.
