Work to Begin on Route 230-21 at English Harbour

On January 23, 2015, the Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, announced appointments to the Premier’s Advisory Council on Crime and Community Safety. The council is mandated to make recommendations to Premier Davis and the Minister of Justice and Public Safety that would make Newfoundland and Labrador safer for all residents. These recommendations will be made after information is gathered through consultation with stakeholders including the general public and recognized experts, as well as through the study of relevant literature and the assessment of innovative practices already used in other areas of Canada.

A tender has been awarded to Coady Construction & Excavating Limited for improvements to the wharf at Bell Island. Just over $3 million is being allocated to prepare the wharf for the arrival of the new 80-metre ice class ferry, the MV Legionnaire in February 2016.
