The consultation will now take place at the College of the North Atlantic, 5 Cromer Avenue. The session will not take place at the Mount Peyton Hotel as previously announced.

Action Plan Guides Future of Provincial Inclusion Strategy

The Provincial Government today marked the release of an action plan to guide further implementation of Access. Inclusion. Equality – A Provincial Strategy for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, with the unveiling of $1.7 million in accessibility upgrades to the Arts and Culture Centre in St. John’s. The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, was joined by the Honourable David Brazil, Minister of Transportation and Works, for the event.
Public Advisory: New Rabies Case Diagnosed in Labrador

The Provincial Government continues to monitor for rabies after a cat tested positive for the disease in Labrador City in early June. This is the third domestic animal to be found with the disease this year. A dog was confirmed with rabies in Labrador City in February and another in Makkovik in April. In this latest case, the cat was attacked by a fox in mid-May and kept in a kennel for observation. The cat was euthanized after its behavior changed and it became aggressive.
