The Provincial Government manages a large Information Communication Technology (ICT) network, with offices and service centres located throughout the province. To ensure that operations are efficient and effective, a contract to review ICT services and to develop a procurement strategy for these services in the future has been awarded to Deloitte Inc. The contract follows a Request for Proposals and is valued at $115,000.

Stage West Theatre Receives Provincial Government Funding

Stage West Theatre Festival in Corner Brook has received a financial investment of over $14,000 from the Provincial Government to support marketing efforts and as well as its production of A Soldier’s Heart. The festival opened on July 1 with the premiere of A Soldier’s Heart, a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme and the young men who served.

Assistance Available to Workers Affected by Closure of Cottlesville Fish Plant

Following a request made by the Town of Cottlesville on behalf of plant workers in the area, former employees of the Breakwater Fisheries Ltd. plant in Cottlesville have been deemed eligible for workforce adjustment measures by the Cabinet Committee on Fisheries Issues. The plant has not operated since December 2014.

Public Advisory: Temporary Exploits River Trestle Bridge Closure

The Exploits River Trestle Bridge in the Newfoundland and Labrador T'Railway Provincial Park, in the Town of Bishop's Falls, will be closed to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. This closure is necessary to facilitate the fireworks display that will be a part of Bishop's Falls River Fest 2016, which was originally scheduled for Monday, July 11.
