Sea trials and crew training for the MV Legionnaire are nearing completion and the vessel will depart St. John’s harbour on Sunday, February 5, to replace the MV Veteran on the Farewell-Fogo Island-Change Islands run. The Legionnaire will enter service on Tuesday, February 7.

While a significant portion of the remaining animals in the George River Caribou Herd are wintering near the communities of Nain and Natuashish, this visible presence should not be interpreted as a resurgence in the herd's population.

The Honourable Perry Trimper, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, was joined today by MHAs and representatives of districts that contain damaged sections of the T’Railway Provincial Park for a meeting in Grand Falls-Windsor with snowmobile groups and key stakeholders. A report completed by Meridian Engineering was recently submitted to the Department of Environment and Climate Change on the damage. During the meeting, stakeholders and government officials spoke about which areas of the T’Railway are of greatest priority for snowmobilers, explored potential actions that could be taken to address the damages in light of the report, and discussed the extent of the repairs that will be necessary.
