Premier Ball Announces Over $14 Million in Joint Funding for Infrastructure on the West Coast

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

The Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, will participate in a service recognition ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the Ramea Volunteer Fire Department tomorrow (August 10). The event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Rock Island Music Festival, Ramea.

The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will make an infrastructure announcement tomorrow (Friday, August 10), that will benefit communities in the west coast region.

Today, the Honourable Andrew Parsons, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment was joined by the Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Transportation and Works and MHA for Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde, to announce funding for a new fire truck for the Town of Heart’s Content.

Fisheries and Land Resources

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources will participate in a joint announcement at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, August 9) at the Newfoundland Emporium, 11 Broadway, Corner Brook.

Transportation and Works

Motorists using the Outer Ring Road are advised of lane closures next to the median on the highway between Torbay Road and Logy Bay Road, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, August 8. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h in this area..

Pet owners in Labrador are encouraged to vaccinate their pets following a positive rabies diagnosis in a fox that was recently killed in Rigolet. Rabies vaccination help protect animals and humans against the threat of rabies.

Today, the Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Seamus O’Regan, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, on behalf of the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Canada’s Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and the Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour, announced that the Governments of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada have signed agreements that will see Canada provide the province with over $900 million over six years to invest in their workers.
