Public Advisory: Residents of Rocky Harbour Encouraged to Properly Store Garbage to Address Roaming Black Bears

Residents of Rocky Harbour and area are asked to take appropriate action to properly store household garbage to address the problem of black bears roaming the area. To avoid attracting bears in communities and backyards do not store garbage in outside containers until collection day and keep pets inside or under close supervision. Two bear traps are currently set in the area and conservation officers continue to monitor on a regular basis. The public are reminded to avoid areas where traps have been set.

I was very pleased to join Premier Ball and other ministers and MHAs at the convention to acknowledge the work of our municipal councils and employees who work tirelessly every day to improve our communities.
