Roofing Company Faces OHS Charges in Provincial Court

Service NL announced today that McCarthy’s Roofing Ltd., a supervisor and two workers have been charged with violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. The charges resulted from an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Division and related to inspections that occurred in Corner Brook on May 16, 2014. The charges were laid on June 24, 2014.

The Long Harbour Development Corporation is constructing a hydromet industrial supply park thanks in part to investments by the provincial and federal governments. The announcement was made today by the Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, and Senator Norman Doyle, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for Newfoundland and Labrador and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency). This funding will support the construction of the supply park and help make the area more attractive to new and emerging businesses.
