Provincial Government Provides Grant for St. John’s Status of Women Council

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is providing a grant of $127,000 to the St. John’s Status of Women Council to allow continued programming under the Safe Harbour Outreach Project for the next year. The funding will support programs and services and expand outreach for individuals who are victims of sexual exploitation.

Home Heating Rebate Continuing for 2015-16

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is continuing the Home Heating Rebate this winter with applications for the 2015-16 season now available on the Department of Finance website. It is estimated that approximately $13.6 million will be provided to residents through the program.

Project Provides $60,000 for Visual Fire Alarms for Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing

The Provincial Government is investing close to $60,000 for a pilot project designed to increase awareness around the need for visual/tactile fire safety alerts in the homes of people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, and to begin the process of providing systems to households in greatest need.
