More than 43,000 seniors in the province began receiving an enhanced low income seniors’ benefit this week. With the October 2015 payment, the maximum payment seniors may receive will be $1,059 for seniors with a net income of up to $29,284.

Roads in Terra Nova Region Undergoing Rehabilitation Work

Roadwork valued at over $1.2 million is underway in the Terra Nova region as part of the 2015 Provincial Roads Program. The contract, awarded to J-1 Contracting Limited, includes road rehabilitation, paving and the installation of culvert concrete end treatments. All work is anticipated to be completed this construction season.

The Research & Development Corporation (RDC) is investing $592,535 in Technip Canada's High Performance Computing Centre to strengthen the province's capacity in riser design research and development (R&D). The Honourable Darin King, Minister Responsible for the Research and Development Corporation, made the announcement this morning during Technip's Technology Day in St. John's. The total project cost is $2,379,977.

The award was created by the Forestry and Agrifoods Agency in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Veterinary Medical Association and SPCA Newfoundland and Labrador.
