New Adult Addictions Treatment Centre Opens in Harbour Grace

A new treatment centre for adults dealing with complex alcohol and drug addiction issues was officially opened this morning in Harbour Grace. The Honourable John Haggie, Minister of Health and Community Services, was joined by officials with Eastern Health, community stakeholders and Pam Parsons, MHA for the District of Harbour Grace - Port de Grave, to open the Grace Centre. The Grace Centre will offer a holistic approach to treatment for people who are 18 years of age and older.

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that repair work is progressing on the MV Veteran. Repairs to the starboard propulsion unit have been ongoing since last week and additional repairs require the vessel to go to dry dock beginning today (Tuesday, February 16).
