The Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development and MHA for Cartwright - L'Anse au Clair, will participate in a ceremony to name the bridge on the Trans-Labrador Highway over the Kenamu River. The bridge, approximately 75 kilometres south of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, will be named the Leslie S. Chubbs Memorial Bridge.
Public Advisory: Upcoming Lane Reductions and Closures on Pitts Memorial Drive

Motorists in the Avalon region are advised of potential delays on the Pitts Memorial Drive bridge above Water Street starting Tuesday, September 3 and continuing until Thursday, September 19. At times, traffic will be reduced to one lane on Pitts Memorial Drive, Water Street and Southside Road. There will be no lane closures during high-volume periods of the day between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
