Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage / Lieutenant-Governor -- Judique, comté d’Inverness, et Weymouth Falls, comté de Digby, se sont vu décerner le Prix du lieutenant-gouverneur pour l’esprit communautaire pour 2022. Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage / Lieutenant-Governor -- Judique, Inverness County, and Weymouth Falls, Digby County, are recipients of the 2022 Lieutenant-Governor’s Community Spirit Award. Both demonstrate civic engagement and vibrant initiatives that celebrate the diversity, culture and heritage of community members.

Natural Resources and Renewables -- All old-growth forest on Crown land is now protected as part of the Province’s new approach to ecological forestry.

National Acadian Day is an opportunity to recognize more than 400 years of history and to celebrate the Acadian culture and traditions that are part of Nova Scotia’s rich heritage.

Team Nova Scotia -- While one group of Nova Scotia athletes is homeward bound after a successful week at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, another contingent from across the province is travelling to Ontario’s Niagara region for competition.

Environment and Climate Change -- The Department of Environment and Climate Change has issued three new approvals for pesticide spraying, covering 2,306 hectares.

Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage -- The Province is investing $2.67 million toward major renovations and accessibility upgrades at the historic Truro Amateur Athletic Club grounds.

Economic Development -- The recently announced Satellite Internet Service Rebate program is expanding to help more Nova Scotians get access to internet services faster.

Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage -- A $6-million investment by the Province will help bring a new community hub to life in Glace Bay.

Community Services -- The Province is providing more than $430,000 to Viola’s Place in New Glasgow to hire an additional housing support worker, expand shelter services and add shelter beds.

Acadian Affairs and Francophonie -- The government is investing $2.5 million to support the Argyle and Clare regions in hosting Congrès mondial acadien, an international gathering of Acadian communities held every five years since 1994.

Natural Resources and Renewables -- Conservation groups, community-led associations and universities are receiving grants to help protect Nova Scotia’s wildlife and habitat.

Justice -- The government is offering the largest reward ever in its unsolved crimes program in the case of eight-year-old Lee’Marion Cain of North Preston.

Health and Wellness -- The government announced today, August 9, a major increase in funding for the Newcomer Health Clinic in Halifax to support the care needs of current and future patients.
