New Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy Sets Path for Future
Office of Equity and Anti-Racism Initiatives / Premier's Office -- Nova Scotia unveiled its Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy today, July 6, the first of its kind in Canada. Its goal is to ensure a whole-government approach in addressing systemic hate, inequity and racism, and it details actions to ensure this work reaches all areas of the province.

Service Nova Scotia -- Applications for the Property Tax Rebate for Seniors, which helps seniors on a low-income with their municipal residential property taxes, open Saturday, July 1.

Justice -- The Province is making progress on developing an accessibility standard in education.
Increase in Nova Scotia Child Benefit
Community Services -- The Province is helping more than 22,750 Nova Scotian families by increasing the Nova Scotia Child Benefit. The increase will take effect on the July payment.
New Sick Note Rules Effective July 1
Labour, Skills and Immigration / Health and Wellness -- Doctors will have more time to take care of their patients as the Province’s new rules for sick notes come into force.

New Federal Carbon Tax Scheduled to Start on Canada Day
Environment and Climate Change / Premier's Office -- Nova Scotians are reminded that they will pay more for gas, diesel and home heating fuels starting Saturday, July 1, because of a new federal tax. The Province has been asking the Government of Canada to delay the start of this new tax while Nova Scotians face high inflation.
