Team Nova Scotia -- Team Nova Scotia has named 225 of the province's best young athletes to its roster for the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Communities, Culture and Heritage -- Nova Scotians will enjoy a new statutory holiday on Feb. 16. Deputy Premier Diana Whalen and Communities, Culture and Heritage Minister Tony Ince launched Nova Scotia Heritage Day at Province House, today, Feb. 6.

Executive Council -- Provincial government offices in Cape Breton will remain closed today, Feb. 6, due to the storm. Offices in Antigonish and Guysborough counties will open at noon.

Justice -- Nova Scotia's newest correctional facility will add 150 beds to the correctional system and enhance safety and security for offenders and staff. The Northeast Nova Scotia Correctional Facility, located in Priestville, Pictou Co., opens Monday, Feb. 9.

Fisheries and Aquaculture -- Due to expected bad weather the lobster industry consultation meeting for Friday, Feb. 6, in Advocate, Cumberland Co., is postponed.

Finance and Treasury Board -- The public consultation session on the tax and regulatory review report for tonight, Feb. 5, in Bridgewater has been postponed.

Environment -- The Department of Environment advised Northern Pulp today, Feb. 5, that it will amend the industrial approval issued on Jan. 30 to address a typographical error.

Energy -- Small and medium-sized companies in the energy sector are encouraged to apply to a wage subsidy program that can help them temporarily hire post-secondary students and recent graduates.

Communities, Culture and Heritage -- The Nova Scotia Museum of Industry in Stellarton has launched an exhibition of contemporary quilts by African Nova Scotian quilters, as part of African Heritage Month 2015.

Economic and Rural Development and Tourism -- Le gouvernement a conclu une entente avec la société Nova Star Cruises Limited concernant l'exploitation du service de traversier pour la saison 2015 et il demandera à la Nova Star et à d'autres sociétés de lui soumettre leurs propositions pour l'exploitation du service de traversier en 2016.

Economic and Rural Development and Tourism -- Government has reached an agreement with Nova Star Cruises Limited for the ferry's 2015 season, and will ask Nova Star and others for proposals to operate the ferry service in 2016.

Fisheries and Aquaculture -- Nova Scotians are encouraged to gear up and get out to one of the province's waterways for a free fishing weekend.
