The Farm and Market at Clarenville Inn to get New Permanent Structure

The Provincial Government and the Government of Canada are investing more than $334,000 to build a permanent, weather-safe structure at the Farm and Market at Clarenville Inn. This funding will help provide local area farmers, craft and food producers with an upgraded space to sell their products, which will improve customer experience and enhance the region's status as a tourism destination.
Public Advisory: Forest Access Roads to Close in Several Areas

Forest access roads in the Point Leamington, Botwood, Lewisporte, Glenwood, Birchy Bay, Gander Bay, Gambo and Glovertown areas will be closed to vehicle traffic effective Monday, April 9, until further notice. The roads will remain open to snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.
RFP Issued for Former Day Use Provincial Park

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the use of a decommissioned provincial park area in Glenwood, located in central Newfoundland. The RFP can be viewed online at www.flr.gov.nl.ca/lands and proposals will be accepted until April 27, 2018.

811 HealthLine Expanded to Include Dietitian Services

Starting this week, Dial-a-Dietitian is a new service now available through the provincial HealthLine. The purpose of Dial-a-Dietitian is to encourage people to make healthier, more informed food choices and to receive helpful information or tips on healthy eating and nutrition. A referral from a health care provider to use the Dial-a-Dietitian service is not needed.

Premier Ball Announces Funding for Labrador Wellness Centre

At an event today in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, the Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, announced the Provincial Government is providing $11.7 million toward the construction of the Labrador Wellness Centre. The total cost for the project is estimated at $25.5 million with the Government of Canada contributing $7.5 million and the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay funding the remainder.
