St. John’s Dockyard Ltd. has been charged today with violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations in relation to an incident that occurred in December 2016. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Division.

Fisheries and Land Resources

The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources advises that some forest access roads in central Newfoundland sustained moderate to extensive damage due to heavy rainfall on April 29, 2018. Individuals should use extreme caution when travelling on the following forest access roads:

Today, the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister Responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, was joined by representatives of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and the Canadian Hearing Instrument Practitioners Association-NL for the signing of a proclamation acknowledging May as Better Hearing and Speech Month in Newfoundland and Labrador.
