Provincial Government Eliminating Limit of Service Agreements for Municipalities

The Provincial Government is following through on its commitment through The Way Forward: Realizing Our Potential to review municipal and environmental permitting processes. On Saturday, November 4, the Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, announced that the department is amending its municipal infrastructure policies to eliminate the requirement for municipalities to enter into Limit of Service Agreements.

Geological Survey Releases New Research on Potential Gold Resources in Central Newfoundland

The The Honourable Siobhan Coady, Minister of Natural Resources, today at Mineral Resources Review 2017 discussed recently released research by the Geological Survey that highlights the potential for new discoveries of gold and other metals in central Newfoundland. The data, available at: www.nr.gov.nl.ca/nr/mines/geoscience/publications/latest_pubs.html are based on soil samples collected from the Sheffield Lake, Springdale, Dawes Pond, The Topsails and Rainy Lake map areas.
