The Provincial Government is providing $52,000 to the St. John’s Taxi Alliance to help the organization develop a human resource plan for the local taxi industry.

The Honourable Gerry Byrne, Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources, will meet with the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, to discuss modernizing the Federal Fisheries Act to include principles such as allocations based on adjacency and Indigenous participation in the fishery‎; the Artic Surf Clam quota; access to increasing the Redfish resource; the current status of Newfoundland and Labrador fisheries and other issues of importance to the province.

The Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, will address the 2017 Pearl Awards for Urban Design, Gardens and Green Lens being hosted by the City of Mount Pearl this evening (Wednesday, November 8). The event will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Mount Pearl City Hall Council Chamber, 3 Centennial Street, Mount Pearl.

The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will participate in O’Donel High School’s Graduation Ceremony tomorrow (Wednesday, November 8). The cap and gown ceremony will take place at O’Donel High School, 155 Ruth Avenue, Mount Pearl, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Applications are now being accepted for the Community Addiction Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Grants Program. Individuals, community groups and non-profit organizations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador are eligible to apply. The application deadline is December 19, 2017.
