The Town of Branch is the 100th municipality in Newfoundland and Labrador to join the BizPaL program, a federal-provincial-territorial online information service which helps local entrepreneurs save time and money by simplifying the process of obtaining permits and licences.

Ministers of education and early childhood development, and ministers of post-secondary education and training, will be taking steps to further solidify regional collaboration to guide provincial and regional mental health initiatives by agreeing to develop an Atlantic Mental Health Framework.

Transportation and Works

Contingency air services are being put in place for Fogo Island-Change Islands-Farewell while repairs are carried out to the MV Legionnaire. The exact timeline for completion of the repair work is still being determined; however, it is expected that the vessel will return to service over the next several days.

Municipal Affairs and Environment

The Honourable Eddie Joyce, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, has extended the deadline for public consultations to modernize municipal legislation. The new deadline to submit feedback is January 31, 2018.
