Seniors and Long-Term Care -- The Province is adding about 600 more single long-term care rooms to help meet the needs of Nova Scotia seniors, bringing the total number of new and replacement rooms to 3,500 by 2027.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the patient who died at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. This is a tragic loss, and my heart goes out to them. I understand they want answers.

Public Works -- Residents and visitors travelling through Eureka, Pictou County, no longer have to take a 15-kilometre detour thanks to the completion of the Eureka Mills Bridge. The bridge officially opened today, January 9.

Advanced Education -- The Province is partnering with Mitacs to train the next generation of skilled workers that will help find solutions for healthcare, clean-tech and other sectors that require highly qualified researchers.

Nova Scotia Securities Commission -- The Nova Scotia Securities Commission is issuing an urgent warning about a widespread scam after numerous Nova Scotians – and other Canadians and U.S. residents – were victimized, suffering substantial losses, including individual losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Fisheries and Aquaculture -- The winter sportfishing season is now open in Nova Scotia.

Public Works -- The government is investing in provincial highways, bridges and ferry infrastructure to make them safer for Nova Scotians.

Labour, Skills and Immigration -- Nova Scotia’s Minimum Wage Review Committee has submitted its report with recommendations on the minimum wage rate, proposing a faster path to reaching $15 per hour.

Health and Wellness -- Les gens de la Nouvelle-Écosse qui ont subi une mastectomie ou une tumorectomie à la suite d'un cancer recevront maintenant une aide accrue lors de l'achat de prothèses.

Health and Wellness -- Nova Scotia residents who have received a cancer-related mastectomy or lumpectomy will now get more help with the cost of mastectomy prostheses.

COVID - 19 / Health and Wellness -- Starting today, January 3, parents and guardians can book Pfizer’s bivalent COVID-19 vaccine as a booster dose for children aged five to 11.
