Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal -- CONTINUING WORK

Municipal Affairs -- Municipal Affairs Minister Mark Furey confirmed today, March 12, that government will not force amalgamation or dissolution on villages in the province.

Fisheries and Aquaculture -- Fisheries and Aquaculture staff have completed their initial visits to aquaculture sites in Nova Scotia. Preliminary results suggest extreme cold weather is to blame for the fish mortalities.

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal -- As spring nears, provincial highway crews are turning their attention from snow clearing to repairing potholes.

Nova Scotia Business Inc. -- RBC, one of Canada's largest employers in the financial services sector, has signed an incentive agreement with Nova Scotia Business Inc. to expand in Nova Scotia.

One Nova Scotia Coalition -- The One Nova Scotia Coalition will focus on entrepreneurship at its meeting today, March 10, in Halifax.

Agriculture -- The Department of Agriculture has extended a program to increase and support bee production in Nova Scotia. Agriculture Minister Keith Colwell and federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz announced the extension today, March 10.

Communities, Culture and Heritage -- Nova Scotia Museum sites are offering unique activities for families and visitors during March Break, March 14-22.

Labour and Advanced Education -- Labour and Advanced Education Minister Kelly Regan is sending condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of a fisherman who died while fishing off of Cape Sable Island on Monday, March 9.

Human Rights Commission -- Bob's Taxi has been found responsible for the actions of a contract driver and together, with that driver, has been ordered to pay $27,500. The driver discriminated against customers based on their race and/or colour.

Innovacorp -- A venture capitalist, a digital media entrepreneur, a corporate lawyer, a university president and a senior financial executive are the newest additions to Innovacorp's board of directors.

Environment -- The Department of Environment issued an amended industrial approval to Northern Pulp, today, March 9. The amended approval or operating licence replaces the one issued to the company on Jan. 30 and corrects the typographical error found last month.

Trade Centre Limited -- Over 1,000 of the world's leading edge researchers and practitioners in big data are coming to Halifax for the 2017 Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining.

Municipal Affairs -- Government has agreed to fund infrastructure, operating and capital investments for roads, and transitional costs associated with the dissolution of Hantsport.

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal -- Spring weight restrictions for commercial vehicles will begin on posted provincial roads starting at 12:01 a.m., Monday, March 9, in southwestern Nova Scotia (Shelburne, Yarmouth and Digby counties).
