Premier's Office -- Nova Scotia and the Chinese province of Shandong signed a twinning agreement today, Sept. 11, to increase trade and investment.

Energy -- Government is supporting three projects in Cape Breton that will help connect community hubs and promote active living.

Justice -- The nomination deadline for the Minister's Award for Leadership in Crime Prevention has been extended until Friday, Sept. 30.

Tourism Nova Scotia -- Tourism, one of Nova Scotia's most important economic sectors, is poised for record growth in 2016.

Seniors -- Funding was announced today, Sept. 8, for two organizations in Kings County that support seniors' safety and create opportunities for seniors to be more active in their communities.

Education and Early Childhood Development -- Dans le cadre de la rentrée scolaire cette semaine, les enseignants et les élèves pourront profiter d'une augmentation de l'apprentissage pratique, de plus petites classes et d'un plus grand soutien en mathématiques et en littératie. Education and Early Childhood Development -- Teachers and students returning to the classroom this week can look forward to more hands-on learning, smaller class sizes and more supports in math and literacy. These are just some of the initiatives being introduced as part of the second year of Nova Scotia's Action Plan for Education.

Service Nova Scotia -- The CEO of Housing Nova Scotia, Dan McDougall, Halifax-Chebucto MLA Joachim Stroink and a team of swimmers are diving into the challenge of completing not one, not two, but three harbour swims today, Sept. 8 in support of the United Way.

Community Services -- Community Services issued a request for proposals today, Sept. 8, for help to develop stronger processes, policies, and tools to capture how programs delivered by partner organizations are helping Nova Scotians.

Education and Early Childhood Development -- Government has reached a tentative agreement with teachers.

Premier's Office -- Best wishes are being sent to Canada's Paralympians, including Nova Scotians, as they prepare to compete in Rio for the 2016 Paralympic Games, which begin Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Labour and Advanced Education -- C'est aujourd'hui 6 septembre que la Province a lancé son nouveau programme de services d’emploi, Nouvelle-Écosse au travail, au centre de recherche d'emploi Futureworx d'Elmsdale, qui est lui-même un centre de services d’emploi Nouvelle-Écosse au travail.

Labour and Advanced Education -- The province launched its new employment services system, Nova Scotia Works, today, Sept. 6, at the Elmsdale Futureworx Job Search Centre, a Nova Scotia Works employment services centre.

Communities, Culture and Heritage -- The Museum of Industry in Stellarton, Pictou Co., is featuring a new exhibit, Glamour Plus Labour: clairtone in nova scotia.

Lieutenant Governor -- Musical performances, historical lectures and Mi'kmaq storytelling are among the events featured in this fall's Evenings at Government House, a public event series hosted by the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia.

Premier's Office -- Premier Stephen McNeil, as Minister responsible for Military Relations, proclaimed today (Sept. 3) as Merchant Navy Day.
