Rescheduled dates for Accessibility Bill at Law Amendments Committee
Law Amendments Committee -- The rescheduled Law Amendments Committee sessions on Bill 59, the Accessibility Act, will be held on Thursday, March 2, from 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and on Friday, March 3, from 9-11 a.m. at Province House, 1726 Hollis St., Halifax.
Government to Protect Service/Status of Substitute and Term Teachers
Education and Early Childhood Development -- School board superintendents were informed this afternoon that school boards should not disrupt teachers' term service or status as a result of the strike action by the Nova Scotia Teachers Union today, Feb. 17.

Pardon, Apology, for Late Grand Chief Gabriel Sylliboy
Premier's Office -- Gabriel Sylliboy, a late grand chief of the Mi'kmaq, remembered for defending his people's right to hunt and fish, received a posthumous pardon and apology from the province, today, Feb. 16, for his conviction for hunting illegally almost 90 years ago.

Executive Council -- Due to poor weather and staff availability, the following offices will remain closed today, Thursday, Feb. 16:

Action on School Policies
Education and Early Childhood Development -- Government has confirmed with the Nova Scotia Teachers Union its commitment to fund classroom improvements and to investigate potential changes to PowerSchool. Government has also directed school boards to take immediate steps to address classroom concerns from teachers.
Provincial Government Offices Delay Opening Today, Feb. 16
Executive Council -- Due to poor weather and road conditions, provincial government offices in: Yarmouth, Shelburne, Digby, Lunenburg, Queens, Kings, Annapolis, Colchester, Cumberland, Antigonish and Pictou counties will delay opening until 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 16th.

Nova Scotia Business Inc. -- Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) announced a newly approved production through the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund today, Feb. 15.
Province Announces Nova Scotia-China Live Lobster Quality Project
Fisheries and Aquaculture -- A new lobster quality initiative between Nova Scotia and Tmall-Alibaba, an online retail company in China, will set a premium quality standard for exported Nova Scotia lobster.
Government to Introduce Teachers' Professional Agreement and Classroom Improvement Act
Education and Early Childhood Development -- Today, Feb. 14, government is introducing legislation that will address classroom conditions and provide a fair wage package to the province's teachers.
Provincial Government Office Closures, Feb. 14
Executive Council -- Due to the ongoing weather conditions in some areas, and for the safety of all road users while roads are being cleared for travel, provincial government offices will remain closed for today, Feb. 14, with the exception of offices located in the following counties: Yarmouth, Shelburne, Lunenburg and Queens. Provincial government offices in those four counties will open at noon.

Resumption of the House of Assembly Postponed
Speaker's Office -- The resumption of the third session of the 62nd general assembly has been postponed. It will now resume Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m.

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal -- Due to the expected storm track, provincial government offices located in Inverness, Richmond and Victoria counties will close at noon today, Monday, Feb. 13.

Law Amendments Committee Meeting Rescheduled
Justice -- The law amendments committee meeting, scheduled for Monday, Feb. 13 and Tuesday, Feb. 14 to hear presentations on Bill 59, An Act Respecting Accessibility in Nova Scotia, has been postponed because of the winter storm.
Twinning Consultation Session in Antigonish Rescheduled
Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal -- Due to the anticipated storm and expected poor travel conditions, the public consultation session on highway twinning scheduled for Monday, Feb. 13, in Antigonish has been rescheduled.
