Independent Review of Forest Practices Released
Lands and Forestry -- NOTE: This release is on behalf of Professor Bill Lahey, project lead on the Independent Review of Forest Practices.
An independent review of the province’s forest practices is recommending fundamental changes to the way forestry is conducted in Nova Scotia.

NOTE: The following is a statement from Mark Furey, Minister of Labour Relations, following today’s arbitration decision regarding the Nova Scotia Government and CUPE Local 1867, Nova Scotia Highway Workers Union. The decision can be found at, https://novascotia.ca/psc/public-service-sustainability-mandate/ .
We welcome the arbitrator’s decision. It maintains our wage pattern, with a seven per cent wage increase over six years and provides the option for early payout of the public service award. This is in line with other recent settlements, including all other civil service employees.
Applications Available for SolarHomes Program
Energy and Mines -- Nova Scotia homeowners can now save money on their electricity bills by installing solar photovoltaic systems on their homes through the SolarHomes program.
