Human Rights Commission -- Three individuals and two groups were presented with the 2019 Nova Scotia Human Rights Awards today, Dec. 10 in Halifax.
December 2019 Reports of the Auditor General
Auditor General -- Auditor General Michael Pickup issued his 2019 performance audit report today, Dec. 10. The report contains two audit chapters - one looking at reducing regulatory burden to businesses and a second covering the Halifax Infirmary and Community Outpatient Centre in Halifax Regional Municipality.

Auditor General -- Le vérificateur général Michael Pickup a publié un rapport de vérification opérationnelle, aujourd'hui 10 décembre. Le rapport contient deux chapitres. New Government Funding Provides Expanded Pharmacy Services
Health and Wellness -- Nova Scotians will have more options to access the care they need under a new agreement with pharmacists. Under the agreement the province will cover the costs of prescribing more medication and refilling certain prescriptions.
Two agreements between the government and the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia means more provincial funding for pharmacists’ services.

Status of Women -- The Nova Scotia Advisory Council on the Status of Women is recognizing the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, Friday, Dec. 6, on the 30th anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at L’École Polytechnique de Montreal.
MacLean, Livingstone, Delaney and Disability Rights Coalition of Nova Scotia v. Province of Nova Scotia Remedy Decision
Human Rights Commission -- Complainants in the matter of Beth MacLean, Sheila Livingstone, Joseph Delaney and the Disability Rights Coalition of Nova Scotia v. Province of Nova Scotia were awarded damages in the remedy decision issued yesterday, Dec. 4 by Walter Thompson, chair of the independent board of inquiry who found they were discriminated against in his decision issued in March 2019.
Nova Scotia to Welcome Direct Flights from China in 2020
